FileCatalyst Speeds Up Delivery of Video Footage in Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2013 Coverage

Ottawa, ON, January 2014 — Pioneering accelerated file transfer solution FileCatalyst, the world’s leading accelerated file transfer software solution, is pleased to be the file transfer technology provider, as well as a sponsor, of the Adventure4aCure team in the inaugural Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge race across the Atlantic Ocean.
The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2013 consists of teams competing to row more than 3,000 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean. The race route begins at San Sebastiean in La Gomera, The Canary Islands, and heads west to end in Nelson’s Dockyard English Harbour, Antigua.
Competing against 16 other teams, Adventure4aCure is comprised of only Andrew Abraham, completely unassisted, who is aiming to cross the Atlantic by rowboat in just 46 days to break the current world record. As the current world record holder as the fastest man in the world to ever row 1 million meters on a Concept 2 rowing machine, Andrew is racing to generate awareness and raise $500,000 for disadvantaged children.
Real time footage of event coverage will be captured from Andrew’s 24 foot ocean rowing boat with an iPhone. Andrew will be using Quicklink and FileCatalyst to easily send photos and recorded video clips of the journey via satellite to a central location for processing and production. The iPhone footage will then be broadcast via Seven Networks and the Adventure4aCure website.
