Without any prior download or installation, end-users of Web Workflow can easily transfer large files at full line speed. End-user complexity is further reduced through the simple-to-use web interface that makes it very easy to move large data sets for non-technical users.

Look-n-feel customization

FileCatalyst Web Workflow can easily be customized to represent your corporate look. HTML headers and footers carrying your corporate colors and logo can be entered into the system. Email notifications can also be modified to carry your message trailers. The form used to send file packages can be changed to capture specific information that is relevant to your organization. All of these changes are possible through the administrator's web console.

Support for Directory Servers

LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) or Active Directory is a user-authentication protocol which is supported by FileCatalyst Web Workflow. LDAP or Active Directory enables organizations to have a dedicated server to manage and authenticate their user accounts. More specific application for LDAP or Active Directory is to give end users a single username and password to access all applications deployed on the network.

Automation for IT Administrators:
  • Account management, can be fully automated. Users can self-register for Web Workflow, forgotten passwords are automatically emailed, accounts that are no longer used can be easily purged.
  • File retention is also fully automated. Expired files and transactions can be automatically removed. Retention time can be easily changed.
Web Workflow also automates file transfers for users:
  • Web Workflow HotFolder desktop application allows end user to define local folders that are continuously monitored. Files are automatically sent as soon as a new file is placed in that folder.
  • Scheduling - HotFolder can be configured to send files at specific times.
  • If connection to Web Workflow server is lost, HotFolder will continuously retry until the connection is re-established. This ensures that very large files can be sent without the need to restart sending from scratch.
Real time tracking and audit trail

Activity tracking is one of the most important features of preventing abuse. FileCatalyst Web Workflow was built around this feature. In fact, upon successful login to Web Workflow, the first thing any administrator will see are the most recent transactions. Transaction list can be grouped, sorted and filtered by many properties.

Activities in the system are logged and an audit trail can be generated for any transaction. Audit trail reports can be traced as far back as the IP address used by the user.
Reporting will provide statistical data on the system as well as a compilation of most active users, most popular file extensions, bandwidth used, etc.

Security Features

FileCatalyst Web Workflow is equipped with multiple layers of authentication and authorization. Account management allows only registered users to operate the system. Password protection allows only intended users to download files. All communications can be protected using industry standard SSL encryption. Using IP Filters, further unauthorized use of the system can be prevented.

Compliancy Mandates
Enhanced security and enterprise-grade reliability allow Web Workflow to add to the compliancy standards of various mandates including HIPAA, SOX, and GLBA.
