File Catalyst for faster file transfers and accelerated transfers

TVN Entertainment supports FileCatalyst® for transfer of digital media

The FileCatalyst® Web Workflow solution combines acceleration with an intuitive GUI, resulting in a fast and painless transfer solution for media publishers and content providers.

Las Vegas, NV - April 14, 2008 - Unlimi-Tech Software is pleased to announce that TVN Entertainment Corp., the world's largest television on-demand company, will support FileCatalyst® Web Workflow for file submission and tracking of digital content.

FileCatalyst® Web Workflow allows TVN and its content partners to submit and track digital content from source to sink. TVN currently handles more than 8,000 hours of VOD programming from more than 150 content providers, including every major Hollywood studio as well as premium and broadcast networks.

Using FileCatalyst® Web Workflow, content partners can easily submit media files to TVN's central server for processing and distribution. With no prior training and no client-side install, users can upload files using nothing more than a web browser. These uploads are accelerated through the FileCatalyst® engine, resulting in speed gains up to 100x times over conventional methods. The received files are managed using the FileCatalyst web interface, allowing TVN and content providers to easily track content as it is processed through the TVN workflow.

"FileCatalyst® is an important addition to our existing asset management system as it not only accelerates our file transfers, but provides an easy-to-use interface to manage and track the millions of files we distribute," said Marlon Gillett, Vice President of the Systems Technology Group at TVN. "When it comes to ease of use, from an end user standpoint, other technologies don't compare to FileCatalyst®."

"This implementation of FileCatalyst® at TVN highlights a growing trend that we've seen in the past few years," explains Chris Bailey, CEO of FileCatalyst. "Now content owners and distributors are released from previous commitment to obsolete technology, allowing them to use FileCatalyst®, a user-friendly and cost-effective file transfer solution that is priced equitably for web deployment."

What further sets FileCatalyst® Web Workflow apart from competing products is its strong focus on server-based pricing. This is ideal for web deployment, where a countless number of end-clients can be connected to the web portal. This cost-effective licensing model financially frees content providers from their existing file transfer vendor, encouraging a switch to FileCatalyst® technology.
