FileCatalyst was deployed to a cloud server provided by Canadian Cloud Computing. The solution was used to exchange large media assets over the internet as part of Canada 3.0's "Road to Banff" pitch-off event. The challenge was how to quickly and easily deliver the large video files to the appropriate individuals after the conference had concluded. Because the presentations included confidential financial and strategic information, the process had to be as secure as possible.

VPRO of the Netherlands produced a television show requiring data transfer from a sailing ship on the high seas back to the mainland, using a pair of VSAT domes installed on the ship and connecting via an unpredictable satellite link. Their original system was slow and unreliable. It's no wonder—TCP (the layer FTP is built upon) is hit incredibly hard by packet loss and latency, which satellite connections have in abundance. VPRO's first priority was increasing reliability of file transfer; the next was maximizing available link speed; budget was only a tertiary concern, but FileCatalyst also cost a tenth of the hardware alternative.

Brazil's Rain Networks had two problems they needed to solve. First, they needed a way to automatically distribute digital films to 155 (and growing) theatres. Next, they wanted a way to provide acceleration and reliable delivery so that films would arrive on schedule. FileCatalyst was able to help on both fronts, with HotFolder automation and FileCatalyst technology for delivery. Adopting FileCatalyst also provided an instant return on investment, with the new technologies costing 10x less than their existing.
