Connecting Standard and Secure Clients Without Reconfiguration
One of the new features added in FileCatalyst Direct 3.1 is the ability to allow both standard and secure clients to connect without having to reconfigure the server.
In order to configure this feature, go to the Advanced-->Network panel and select both the Server Port and the Secure Server Ports and configure to the values you wish to use. If your security settings have not been configured, activating the Secure Server Port will prompt you to create your own security certificate or set the value if you already have one. You can also click through to configure your security by clicking on the Configure Security link.

Feature of the Month
Manage Groups without Super Admin Status
Now available in FileCatalyst Workflow are group management privileges for system administrators. Previously only super administrators were able to create, update, and delete groups from the system.
This updated feature removes the burden placed on super administrators, by enabling them to allow regular admins to manage and update user group settings. By enabling isolate groups, the super admin can also restrict admins to manage only the groups to which they belong.
To enable this feature log in as super admin, select "Modify Configuration", then select "General Settings" and enable “Allow Admins to Configure Groups”
Tips and Tricks
Adding notification lists in FileCatalyst Workflow
FileCatalyst Workflow introduces a new feature which allows the ability to add a notification list to a workflow. The notification list accepts a comma delimited list of email addresses that require notification when events occur on a submitted job.
Steps required to set up a notification list:
- Add a new job data field, making the notification list available to work flow forms.
- Log in as an administrator
- Select the “Modify Configuration” menu icon
- Under the “Job Configuration” tab, select the “Job Data Fields” menu item
- In the “Job Data List” screen under the “Quick Add” press the drop down list and select the “Notification List” item
- Press the “Add New” button to create the new “Notification List” job data field
- Press the “Save” button to preserve the changes
- Once the “Notification List” data field is available to be included on any form, select the “Order Forms” menu item from the “Job Configuration” tab and add it to any of your existing form or to a newly create form
This service will now send an email to any recipient in the “Notification List” whenever a user downloads a document from the FileCatalyst WorkFlow process.
